You have intentionally adjusted it to be so by attenuating the midrange to match the woofer! A swamping resistor or a resistive L-pad absorbs the extra efficiency of the midrange that you don't need. The midrange is always attenuated to match the woofer, which determines the efficiency. ![]() To the idiots who insist that the 'swamping resistor' used in ALK network circuits to set the midrange level absorb power reducing the efficiency of the speaker, consider this: A loudspeaker's efficiency is defined as the loudness in dB sound pressure level at 1 meter from the speaker when 1W of power is applied. ![]()
